Isaiah 30:1-17
October 20th 2024, Third Holy Day of the Month
Tadashi Nagae, Pastor

When the threat of Assyria was looming, the LORD spoke to Judah, who had turned to Egypt.

First, it is a disaster to walk without relying on the LORD. They did not seek God’s
instructions, but instead, relied on Egypt rather than God. This is a sin before the Him, and walking in this way will bring shame, suffering, futility, and destruction. Let us walk in fear of the LORD and rely on Him!

Second, we must keep the LORD’s teachings in our hearts, and not repeat our mistakes. People tend to forget the lessons they have learned and repeat their mistakes. To avoid this, it is important to keep the teachings we have received from the LORD in our hearts.

Third, we must be quiet before the LORD. When facing problems, people’s hearts tend to become troubled, turn away from the LORD, complain, and trust in the things of this world. Therefore, it is necessary to return to the LORD, calm down, be quiet, and trust in Him. Only then can we receive salvation and strength from the LORD.

Everyone has storms in their lives. The important thing is to be calm before the LORD. Let us always be calm before the LORD!

<The Word of the Bible>
For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel,
“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
in quietness and in trust shall be your strength” But you were unwilling.
Isaiah 30: 15 (English Standard Version)
