Zechariah 1:1-6
November 24th 2024, Fourth Holy Day of the Month
Tadashi Nagae, Pastor
I will start preaching the Book of Zechariah from today. By the Lord’s grace, the
people were able to return to Jerusalem for rebuilding of the temple, but the
work had been halted for a long time due to obstructions by their enemies. The Lord spoke to the people through Haggai and Zechariah.
First, God becomes angry with sin. God is the One who loves, but at the same time He hates sin. He especially hates the sin of idolatry. If we are saved, our sins are forgiven, but God is not tolerant of sin! We need to walk the right path with which the Lord is pleased.
Second, God wants our repentance. The Lord of hosts is telling us to return to
Him. His will is that we return to Him immediately if we are shown to do so. That
is the secret for us to grow spiritually.
Third, obeying God’s word is the reliable path. In every generation, the Word of
God has been true, and what He spoke has been fulfilled. And the same is true even today. Let us be followers of the Word as it is presented to us.
We tend to walk away from the Lord without realizing it. The Lord shows that as well. If we are shown by the Lord, let us repent immediately and return to Him!
<The Word of the Bible>
Therefore say to them, Thus declares the Lord of hosts:
Return to me, says the rd of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
