2 Peter 3: 15-18
September 29th 2024, Fifth Holy Day of the Month
Pastor Tadashi Nagae

This time is the final sermon of the Second Letter of Peter. Peter again called out, “beloved” and told them not to lose their stability in faith. How should we walk, so that we will not lose our stability in faith?

First, we must accept the Word of God with an open mind and obey it. We must not distort His word. If we are not careful, we will distort the Word of God to suit our own desires. Then we will walk out of His will. Let us accept His word with an open mind and yield to it. How we listen to it is important.

Second, we should grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ! Without it, we will be tempted by wicked people. To prevent this from happening, it is important to know how great blessing we have received from Christ and to know about Him! It allows us to grow spiritually and walk steadily.

Our Lord also calls us, “Beloved”. Let us grow spiritually even more, relying on the Lord so that we can walk through serving Him steadfastly to the end without losing our stability in faith!

<The Word of the Bible>
You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.
2 Peter 3: 17 (English Standard Version)
