2 Peter 2:3-10
July 7th, 2024, First Holy Day of the Month

Last week, we learned about false prophets, and this week we will learn what will happen to such people in today’s section.

The first thing we are taught here is that God judges sinners without exception. There are three examples, the judgment against the angels, against the ungodly people of Noah’s time and against the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. God does not overlook sinners. Let us remember that He will surely judge them.

With that in mind, we need to remember two things: The first is to thank the Lord for the grace and mercy He has given us. It is not by our righteousness that we are saved. Let us always walk in gratitude to the Lord, remembering that we were saved only because of God’s grace and mercy.

The second is to fear the Lord and walk in godliness. There are some people who are saved but walk in ungodliness. We must not walk in such ungodliness. Let us walk in godliness, fearing the Lord who gave His life for us.

The Lord’s grace and mercy will never fail. Let us give thanks to Him and walk in godliness till the end!

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,
