Zechariah 3:6-10
February 2nd 2025, First Holy Day of the Month
 Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor

Let us learn from what the angel of the Lord solemnly assured Joshua:

The first is to walk in the way of the Lord. There are cases in which even Christians walk endlessly close to the ways of the world. We must not disregard the Word of God, and unfaithfully walk in the same way as the world. Let us continue to walk in the Lord's path, even if there are difficulties.

The second is to give thanks for the grace of the Lord's coming and the salvation that has been given to us. Here is a prophecy about the Savior. The words “my servant,” “the Branch,” and “the stone” all refer to the Savior. The Lord, the true High Priest, has already come. We have received salvation. Let us always walk in gratitude to the Lord for that grace.

The third is to share the joy of our salvation with others. The phrase “that day” can be interpreted as the time of the Lord's Second Coming, when He will come again. On that day, we will invite one another and rejoice together. But also now, we can share the joy of salvation with each other, with those who have been saved. That is a group of Christians, a church.

We are considered as priests. Let us tell many people of this wonderful salvation and invite them into this wonderful circle of grace!

<The Word of the Bible>
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who sit before you, for they are men who are a sign: behold, I will bring my servant the Branch.
