Zechariah 1:18-21
December 8th 2024, Second Holy Day of the Month
 Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor

Let us learn from the second vision that God showed to Zechariah.

First, God does not overlook sins. The people of Judah were beaten and afflicted by various nations. This was because of their sins, but God said that He would judge those nations. If we remember that God does not overlook sins and will always judge justly, we will be blessed at two points:

The first point is that we will be able to overcome temptation of sins. This is because we walk in fear of the LORD who judges righteously.
The second point is that we can entrust ourselves to God. We do not need to judge others by ourselves, but can entrust ourselves to the LORD who judges correctly.

Second, God’s promises will surely be fulfilled. The vision that God showed here was the very promise that God had once given to Abraham. God always fulfills His promises. The most important thing in our walk is to make those promises of our own.

We tend to get distracted by the various problems in life. However, let us always keep our eyes on the LORD, and His promises!

<The Word of the Bible>
And I said, “What are these coming to do?” He said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one raised his head. And these have come to
terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
Zechariah 1: 21 (English Standard Version)
