Acts 2: 42-47
October 6th 2024, First Holy Day of the Month
Bro. Michio Harikae, Intern Trainee

Over the past few years, the new infectious disease has forced us to limit face-to-face fellowship in our church, too. But now, thankfully, in the Lord's approval, closer fellowship in the Lord is returning. So this morning, let us again learn from the example of the early church’s “origin of the fellowship in the Lord” to which we should turn back.

Firstly, they always devoted themselves to the teachings of the apostles, that is, to the teachings of Christ. Since all the fellowship in the church is “the fellowship in the Lord,” it should be centered on the teachings of Christ and the Word of the Bible, shouldn’t it? Let us remember first and foremost, that we should encourage one another to devote ourselves to the Word of God, and to share the Word with one another.

Secondly, they loved one another. They shared everything and helped each other when they saw each other's needs. If we also love one another with the love of Christ, we will be like the early church, a church that will be favored by those around us, and the glory of the Lord will be revealed there.

Thirdly, they prayed with one heart. While individual prayer is important, let us remember that the Lord works abundantly where the church prays with one heart.

<The Word of the Bible>
And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
