2 Peter 3: 10-13
September 8th 2024, Second Holy Day of the Month
Pastor Tadashi Nagae
Before finishing his letter, Peter tries to inform again several things that are important in chapter 3. The day of the Lord is coming. It is the day when the Lord will bring judgment to the world at the end of the present age, and it is also the time of transition to the next new age. The Bible tells us not only about history, but also about several things that will happen in the future. The program for the future goes along the Rapture, the Tribulation Period, the Second Coming, the Millennium, the White Throne Judgment, the New Heavens and the New Earth. No one knows when they will come. How should we walk in this time period?
The first is to live a holy and godly life.
As those who have been set apart for God, we are to humble ourselves before God and walk in fear of God. The Lord is the one who reveals all things and judges righteously. He also rewards correctly. Therefore, let us walk in holiness and godliness.
The second is to wait for and hasten the coming of God.
It is written that the end will come after the gospel is preached to the whole world. We must not forget that we are sent to preach the gospel now!
What are we focusing our minds on, as we walk our lives? Let us wait for the Lord's coming and walk in holiness and godliness!
