2 Peter 3: 1-2
August 4th, 2024, First Holy Day of the Month
Pastor Tadashi Nagae
We have entered chapter 3. It is written that we should recall and remember the words of the Old and New Testaments.
Why is it necessary to remember? First, because we are prone to forget. We are likely to forget God’s Word and the past blessings we have received from God. When this happens, our faith weakens and begins to recede. Second, because we are prone to be caught up in the situation. We focus on the situation in front of us. Therefore, we must always remember God’s Word.
What will happen if we remember the Word? We will be able to stir up our sincere mind and walk. The Lord’s second coming, which we will study next Sunday, is mentioned. If we remember God’s Word and promises and walk with them in mind, our hearts will be inspired by the Lord. We can walk in faith and overcome hardships.
It is very important to learn new things. However, what is even more important is to remember the Word that we have heard already. Let us remember the Word and grace of the Lord every day and walk with sincere mind stirred up by Him!
<The Word of the Bible>
This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder,
